Fake or Fortune is the BBC documentary television series which examines the provenance and attribution of notable artworks. Presented by art historian Philip Mould and journalist Fiona Bruce together with specialist research carried out by Bendor Grosvenor.

Analysis:  Philip, Fiona and Bendor have been transposed into the setting of a notable painting by an unknown hand – possibly a follower of Caravaggio. The chess board in the original painting has been changed to a portrait by Raphael which they are studying. The purse has been changed to a microphone which Fiona is holding, as a “nod” to her journalism. They certainly deserve to “wear feathers in their caps”.
